You keep the rights to your photographs and to the results. Credits are prepaid and are spent when a tool runs, whether or not you like what comes back. These are AI models, so the output is a plausible reconstruction rather than the truth, and it must not be relied on as evidence.
Who we are
PhotoTools.ai is a set of single purpose AI photo tools. Using the site means agreeing to these terms, to the acceptable use policy, and to the handling described in the privacy notice.
Your photographs and your results
You keep everything. You keep whatever rights you had in the photograph you uploaded, and as between you and us, the result is yours to use for anything, including commercially. We claim no ownership of either.
You give us permission to store your photograph and send it to the AI provider that processes it, for as long as it takes to do that and for the retention period after. That permission exists so we can run the tool you asked for, and for nothing else.
You must have the right to upload what you upload. If a photograph is of somebody else, that is your responsibility, not ours.
What the tools actually do
These are generative models. They produce a plausible version of what was probably there rather than recovering information the file no longer holds. A restored face is the model's best guess at a face. A sharpened number plate is a sequence of characters that looks right, not the one that was photographed.
Do not rely on any output as evidence, as identification, or as a record of fact. Results vary with the source photograph, and running the same image twice can give two different answers.
Credits and payment
Tools are paid for in credits. A credit is spent when a tool runs, and running a tool is the service: the credit pays for the model to process your photograph, not for you to be happy with the outcome.
If a job fails, the credits are returned automatically. A result you simply do not like is not a failure, and is not refunded as a matter of course. If something has gone genuinely wrong, write to us and we will look at it.
Current prices are on the pricing page. Prices can change, but not for a subscription period you have already paid for. Credits bought in a pack do not expire.
Availability
We do not promise the service will be available, uninterrupted, or free of faults. It depends on AI providers we do not control, and when they are down, we are down.
We may change or withdraw tools. If a tool you have paid a subscription for is withdrawn, write to us.
Ending it
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches the acceptable use policy, usually after telling you why.
Liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Consumer rights that apply where you live are not affected by these terms.
Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
